Main Street Delaware Introduces Mobile App
New Software Program Provides Electronic Key to the City with Links to Places, Events, More
Delaware, Ohio - Main Street Delaware invites you to unlock community information with your electronic key to the city - the organization's new, free mobile application for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
The app, created by Delaware resident and Ohio Wesleyan University employee Brian Rellinger, is available for download at the Apple iTunes App Store atwww.apple.com/itunes. An Android version is in development.
The Main Street Delaware app provides instant access to news, weather, event information, photos, and a directory of shops and restaurants. Rellinger, who also led Ohio Wesleyan's OWU Mobile app initiative, plans to expand the Main Street Delaware app over time to add a money-saver module that enables businesses to post coupons. Customers will claim discounts by using their mobile devices to access the e-coupons and then show the screen to employees.
"This is a great community resource," said Frances Jo Hamilton, Main Street Delaware's executive director. "It pulls together information from multiple sources and makes it instantly available. Main Street is excited to offer this free app and appreciative of Brian's time and talent in creating it."
