Two years ago Main Street Delaware took a large leap from the familiar and decided to install ground level flower planters in the downtown. We have installed 22 ground level flower planters in our downtown. These planters bring a ‘green’ element to our downtown and bring us all together planting and maintaining their beauty.
This installation of planters was followed by a soil donation from Price Farm Organics and a wonderful deal on plants for our planters from Acorn Farms. A water wagon donation was also obtained complete with our Main Street logo. The pot program also enlists many volunteers to plant, prune and water the planters. Last season we clocked over 1500 volunteer hours. This program works because of donations of time and money from our volunteers and sponsors. We are offering sponsorship for the 36” planter for $150 and $250 for each 60” planter. This will limit sponsorships to 22 available.
